Really, truly there was nothing that Tom would not do for each of you here today to make you more happy and help you to succeed. I trust that you realize that few men actually cared about you as much as Tom did.

I first met Tommy McGowan many, many years ago, when we both at the awkward stage in our lives when we were boys turning into young men. Our introduction was brief, and it sounded like this: "SMACK!"

"Love is not relative, it is absolute. There is not a fixed amount of love to be divided — you can love many people completely, 100%"

I will offer a few insights observed over decades with Tom, which I think are more important than listing the wonderful and sometimes wild experiences we enjoyed together.
